ABC’s for Bully Prevention

The words are simple yet relevant, a toolbox of different ideas and principles that can be used by all ages: students, teachers, parents, children, preachers, parishioners, correctional workers, law enforcement, supervisors, and employees to educate themselves and others.

The concepts challenge the reader to develop an out-of-the-box perspective on how to approach bullying and reduce its negative effects. The author’s personal opinion is that children are not born to hate; they are taught to hate. Use this book to reverse that cycle.

What readers are saying about the book:
Don’t let the ABC’s approach of this book fool you! The writing is concise and engaging and the book is well intended for the middle through high school grades; covering the timely and timeless topic of bullying. The ABC format presents 26+ topic chapters pertaining to bullying, making the book easy to pick up and read and allowing the concepts to be explored one or a few at a time. Topics include bystander, communication, resilience, self control, tolerance, upstander and so on. As a classroom teacher I’ve recently started to implement these concepts as a simple lesson in my 7th grade class….. the book lends itself easily to the morning meeting discussion, close of day activity or any part of the school day allotted for additional enrichment. Even at the elementary level the chapters are adaptable and could be used for discussion. The illustrations are clever and have proven to be discussion starters. I highly recommend this book as a great addition to the classroom library as well as the media center.
